    I drove an IS350 when I took my ES in for service and now I'm hooked. So agile, nimble, and very responsive. Super-fun to drive. Amazing sound system and the NA engine is simpler in design, easier to maintain, and more reliable than other engines.

    If Automatic transmission is mandatory then at least design a sporty, manly, stitched leather wrapped shifter, not the embarrassment that currently exists. BTW, fire the Nissan committee that designed and approved this one. 👎

    I am not a style expert but the rear seems busier than the front to me. Turbos are expected today but I still prefer normally aspirated. This is an interesting alt to me but frankly it is above my price range. Bike test is great for comparison even though I do not own a bike.

    They are slower than their competitors but man if you go from a 10th gen civic or something like that, this car is a beast. It has enough power to slap you to the back of the seat. It pops when it shifts in sport +. The car drives itself on the highway 😂. I love it

    Why compare cars that are far apart in era? Of course a newer mustang will be faster. To me nothing can match the intake sound of a Bmw e92 m3. Mustang is all exhaust and I think a ostentatious sound. Anytime I hear a mustang pass on the road I am thinking shut the hell up that damn think is way too loud.

    Great review, I'm debating if I should buy a ZR2 Bison with the diesel vs gas engine, I actually own a truck with the Duramax 3.0 L and it is a superb engine really, cannot say one negative thing about it but I’m tempted to the V8 because it's naturally aspirated, gas is easier to find than diesel, it is a proven through and through engine and cheaper to maintain. The Bison package,(I think it is called AEV package) is not cheap but very attractive to have if you do serious off-road but in my case I inescapably fall in the category of “non-off road drivers” who buy an off road vehicle “because it looks cool, feels strong”, anyway thank you for posting a concise and thorough review of this truck which for me was very helpful. Happy 4th!....question, do you think Bison's extras are worth vs regular ZR2?

    • @EatSleepDrive
      @EatSleepDrive 44 минуты назад

      I'm glad you found it helpful! I think the Bison package is neat, it's just extremely expensive. Sure if you're really planning to offroad and money not a problem spring for it. But otherwise you could probably add that Bison package stuff individually and I'm not sure you'd pay much more, if any, than buying it pre-installed. Both engines are great though. I will say living in the mountains the turbo is nice to have since it loses less power at altitude to the N/A motors.

    Your observation on the door lock buttons made me laugh, mainly because so many new cars come with them, and I remember one of my clients had a CLS 550 with those same buttons... and it was a 2007! Nothing like a new car with more than 17 year old technology. Plus, the CLS buttons were only for locking the doors. There was a button the length of the handle on the inner part that unlocked the doors just before you pulled them open. At least the LR has buttons on all the doors.

    Man. I hate to say it but i like the 100 more slightly smaller size, the crotch vent, the handle on the interior of the tailgate to get out when camping, the slightly better range, the way lower entry cost, the door interior grips are grippy and you instantly know their quality vs the plastic grip of the 200, the physical keys, the look of the 100 has grown on me. man i love the 200 but dude.. im in love love love with the 100 series. My 100 series is nice and been kept up with but i might dump another 10k into it soon as a thank you for being the most awesome vechile for me ever.

    We're a Subaru family, between kids and grandkids there's 7 late model Subies from Crosstreks, Foresters, Outbacks, and Legacy. Never any problems with any of them, no one gripes about how the CVTs work, seems everyone likes them. A couple of the grandkids wished they had more horses under the hood though, I just tell them to stop racing each other. I drive a '22 Outback Limited, my wife drives a '22 Forester Touring. Both of these cars are perfect for older folks like us.

    How do you look at its reliability reputation which is a concern for these cars and maintenance cost which are huge given its luxury name? Is it worth owning or are you leasing ?

    • @EatSleepDrive
      @EatSleepDrive 6 дней назад

      Leasing is always a safer bet. But when I look at the competition, like ford or jeep, they are on the bottom half of reliability anyway for car manufacturers. So to me, it likely won’t be worse than those. The v6 of recent land rovers haven’t been unreliable aside from the occasional cooling issue. Of course I wouldn’t want to own one of these 15 years from now, but I don’t foresee them being the headache everyone thinks in the near term.

They are called dealers for a reason, they want to talk you into the highest numbers. They want you to sign based on emotion and put you in debt prison. The dealership is the auto mafia’s turf, the internet and cash is our turf.
